One by one. Each lantern went out. Something was coming. It came closer and closer.
Nothing. Just darkness.

Pumpernickel walked across Dead mans Bridge. He had business to take care of and had to do it quickly. Tomorrow was the day of Un-dead. A thick fog began to follow him. His pace quickened. Again he remembered the words. Something so sad happened last time, and he just wanted to rid of it. "Your no longer my son" The words echoed in his head.
What his father didnt know, was that it wasnt his fault.

He summoned 3 pumpkins and continued on his way. The fog was closing in on him and he knew didnt have much time left. Finally he arrived at the house. There she was. Looking through the window. Thats it. His chance gone. For another child will be gone soon. She looked at him and smiled. Nothing friendly though. More of a smile that sent a shiver down your spine.

He ran back along the bridge. But there she was again. Getting closer and closer. The town was just a few meters away, make it past there and he would be safe. 'That was way too close' he thought.

He heard the crackling of a fire. Assuming it was the towns folk having meeting he walked towards the noise. But it was nothing of the kind. Three houses were alight. Each with a child inside. "Your father warned you, but you never listen!" someone said.
"It wasnt my fault!" Pumpernickel shouted back, "She comes to me!"
"We should have never let you back." Another said.

There she was in the fire. Staring at him. Laughing.

Mommy told me never to go in the basement, but I wanted to see what was making that noise. It kind of sounded like a puppy, and I wanted to see the puppy, so I opened the basement door and tiptoed down a bit. I didn’t see a puppy, and then Mommy yanked me out of the basement and yelled at me. Mommy had never yelled at me before, and it made me sad and I cried. Then Mommy told me never to go into the basement again, and she gave me a cookie. That made me feel better, so I didn’t ask her why the boy in the basement was making noises like a puppy, or why he had no hands or feet. 2 years later, i realize that he is a Ghost.

Twas the day before Halloween and all through the house,
Not a living thing scurried, not even the now dead mouse.
Dread Phantoms were lined up, ready to scare,
In hopes new Undead will soon to be there;

Pumpkins all carved, ready to glow,
Lord Pumpernickle smiling setting them down in a row,
Prince Serka already in costume, Vampiress Angelica ready to rise,
To put on her best and wet her insatiable appetite.

When out by the Nercopolis arose such a clatter,
I sprang from grave to see what the matter.
Behind the Dead Soldier's Wall I hid to see what I could spy,
The beach seemed quite empty, a gryffon flying on by.

The waves lapped upon endlessly tide coming to shore,
I spotted a pile of bones, then something more.
A ship, not to far from being a wreck,
and three undead pirates walking it's deck.

Then I saw as it shifted coming aside,
The captian at the wheel that they must abide,
They worked efficiently as it came,
And he whistled and shouted and called them by name;

"Now lash her sails aloft Mary Read,
Anne Bonny secure the mooring, take us from sea,
Keep those cannons steady there Calico Jack,
Klaus Störtebeker will soon signal us back."

What I assumed just washed up bones and clothes,
Assembling, he looked around, then he arose,
He held his head in his hand, but not on his neck,
It burned like a candle without even a wick;

His eyes -- how they twinkled, well since he was on fire,
But I knew right then that our situation might be quite dire,
Despite our undead kinhood, which other races might have saved,
Undoubtedly these pirates came here to raid.

As they hopped ashore each carrying a sack,
I hurried to tell my lord of the impending attack,
Unfortunately swiftness isn't for me,
My legs stumble as I moan, being a zombie;

Blackbeard came up the hill, with a bound,
Smiling past me as I still turned around,
Determined to alert, I shouted for my lord Bael,
The unhinging of my jaw, just added to my fail;

Stealthfully they swagged right down the street,
Each Mausoleum they slipped in without a 'Trick or Treat',
The crew came back, full sacks which weren't bought,
As Blackbeard returned, Bael's crown on his head and let off two shots;

They sprang to their boat and he gave his crew a whistle,
And away they pitched lines slid from the shore, like a river carrying a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he sailed out of sight,
"Good Plunder you all, we go before our tricks raise some spite!"

I, was named after sadness and sorrow. I was thought to be strong, standing as tall as mount Kilimanjaro. But there is more to what my name has to say. I came to existence, from my death in Doomsday.

I was one of the first, to be of Undead. I was a ghost, not a zombie or vampire like the rest. I was the main fighter of my team, being incorporeal and having a mystic barrier. Together with this combo, would leave fear in the hearts of the many fighters.

But I never know who I really was. Died before living, and strapped of my own memories. I only came to use, to fight my own enemies. No one knew who I really was, so they thought of me as a troll. But deep down, I was a Desperate Soul.

The Tale of the Dark Fae

Drip, drip, drip.

I could hear the faint sound of my blood as it made impact with the ground below

Click-clack, click-clack.

The sound of her heels as they got closer and closer down the hall

Swish, swish, swish.

Her cloak as it gently swung with each step she took

I struggled against my bindings but to no avail, she had me
tied up and suspended from the ceiling upside down. I heard the sound of her
footsteps halting at the door and a key being inserted into the door as it
clicked. Then Sarya Princess of the vampires graciously stepped into the dimly
lit room.

“Chuckle, it’s no use struggling Narissa you won’t easily
escape from those bindings nor will any of your other faerie friends.” “You won’t
get away with this Sarya, you can’t tie me up and take faeries from my kingdom
whenever you want.” “Oh, but I can do whatever I please with you and your fae
folk Narissa, after all I am Queen of this realm.”

She twirled a lock of hair around her finger and licked her
lips as she proclaimed, “You know faerie blood is by far the most delicious and
I will have nothing less.” I glared at her and raised my voice as I said “I don’t
care about whose blood tastes better, you can’t just take creatures, tie them
up and use them as a blood bag it’s inhumane.”

Her eyes began to stain a crimson red, “Hahahaha! You think I
care? Enough talk Narissa, I am starving!” Pulling out a knife she swiftly cut
the rope suspending me from the ceiling. “Thud!” I winced in pain from the
sudden sharp impact with the floor. She turned me over and tore the collar of
my dress off, her sharp nails grazing my skin. Without hesitating she bit down
hard on my nape digging her fangs in, “Ngh”. My vision began to darken and my
world faded to black.

I didn’t know how long I’d been out for, I couldn’t tell if
it was day or night in this vampire nest with all the sunlight blocked out by
boarded up windows. My vision gradually started to return, and then the deafening
silence was suddenly pierced by the sound of a bloodcurdling scream.

I startled and weakly pulled myself up to slump against the nearest
wall, I widened my eyes as I took in the horrific sight before me. Bodies,
broken bloodied bodies strewn all over the floor as far as the eye could see.
Blood pooling all over the floor, pieces of wings torn and scattered, and my
body covered in splatters of blood…it was a bloodbath.

I opened my mouth and screamed in horror, all the while many sets
of lifeless eyes of my flock of faeries staring at me. Pain, fear and horror eternally
frozen on their faces in the face of death itself. My attention was suddenly brought
to the door as a figured entered the room.

It was Prince Serka holding one of my Mystical faeries by the
neck as she struggled, “Well, well, well Narissa I must say red does look good
on you”. “Serka you monster, you will regret this” I spat. “Not as much as you
will regret seeing this my dear”. The Mystical faerie tried to reach out
whispering, “Narissa…help me”. But In a split second a sickening smile drew
across Serka’s face and he sliced the faeries throat, her body slumping.

He held a goblet to her neck collecting the blood and threw
her lifeless body amongst the others on the ground, tilting the goblet I
watched him drink it all. I felt the blood drain from my face and tried to
scream, but there was no noise. I started to uncontrollably shake in fear as
Sarya entered the room covered in blood.

Serka turned to Sarya and said, “What shall we do with the
only remaining faerie my love?” Sarya put a finger to her chin, “Hmmm…she
despises us vampires so shall we have her join our ranks so she can live for
all eternity with us?”

Serka smiled, “You are full of interesting ideas darling,
the first vampire-fae, what havoc we will wreak with her under our control”. Sarya
giggles and says, “Well this is the end of the fae Narissa, you shall be reborn….see
you in the afterlife”. The last thing I remember was two pairs of red eyes as Sarya
and Serka leapt at me.

The next day…

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.

The steady beat of a pair of wings could be heard flitting in
the Forest of Life and a pair of red eyes glinted through the trees in the
moonlight. In the deepest hours of the night Queen Narissa floated victorious above
the unmoving bodies of Prince Serka and Princess Sarya.

Destroyed by their own creation by an Immortal vampire-fae who
now possessed the deadly ability to drain life of her victims. Now unstoppable
the dark fae would rein for all eternity.
